Overwhelmed? Try This

Use a quick “5-4-3-2-1” trick to work your way through your five senses: Name five things you can see right now…then four things you can hear…three things you can touch…two things you can smell…and one thing you can taste, such as the taste in your own mouth. This interrupts your spinning thoughts, and you should emerge calmer.
