If you’re hospitalized and have a catheter, ask how soon it can be safely be removed.

Of the 2,076 adults in a recent study, 57 percent said they had catheter problems while hospitalized or after. Eleven percent had infections and over half had complications such as bladder spasms, pain, and bleeding for up to 30 days.
