In  a study of adults with type 2 diabetes, those who didn’t smoke, followed a healthy diet, consumed alcohol only in moderation, and got at least 150 minutes of weekly exercise were 68 percent less likely to die from a cardiovascular problem than those who didn’t adopt those healthy habits.

The risk of dying from cardiovascular disease was lower regardless of the participants blood sugar levels.
