Tip The Balance: Cutting Calories

The easiest place to start is to cut out the extra, non-nutrient-rich calories in food and drinks like:
Snack crackers
Beer, wine, and distilled spirits and their mixers.

We tend to eat and drink these foods when we feel emotional so we can feel better and happier. These “empty calories” add up over the course of a day or week and can tip the balance toward weight gain.
