Day 1     You’re exposed, the virus enters via your nose, throat, eyes, or mouth, and travels to your upper respiratory tract and chest.

Days 2-6     Your immune system mounts an attack, resulting in swollen blood vessels as well as mucus production that causes all those lovely symptoms, nasal congestion, sinus pain, runny nose, coughing. You’re the most contagious days 2-3. Taking zinc now can help the virus from replicating. To help ease the congestion, try using a neti pot.

Days 7-10     You’re feeling better and now immune to that particular cold virus, although there are 200 more you can catch, so don’t let down your immune-strengthening guard.
